Project Details
Baby Steps is an experimental short film that follows a young girl as she grows up unable to walk, exploring how disability shapes her sense of self and identity over time.
The project was independently funded through a combination of private and institutional support, securing $2,000 from Matthew McConaughey and $20,000 from Scottish Rite for Children. The film was produced with a 25-person crew in a studio over the course of a two-day shoot.
From initial preproduction through final post-production, Baby Steps was developed over five months, combining an intimate character-driven story with an intentionally experimental visual approach.
